Forgive me if I go on a little bit of a rant for a minute. If any of you were not aware, this semester I started the Pre-professional program for Industrial Design at BYU. Yes, that is right, I had to apply to take the prerequisites for the program. Once they deem you have some form of potential they put you through their version of the hunger games to see if you can last. I'm not even joking. We have four block classes this semester and each one starts out something like "Now, you all understand that the only things keeping you out of the program are the other people in this class, so we will grade on a curve. Three of you will get A's three of you will get C's and the rest will get B's...and may the odds be ever in your favor."
Long story short, I love the classes and I love what is happening to my artistic and creative abilities in them. I can't wait to see if I get into the program. I wont know till April, so I have decided to defer this next semester and take some time to earn money and build my portfolio in order to give myself the best chance I could possibly have. I've included some of my work from the class in case you are interested. Some are from my sketchbook and some are my projects from the class. Love what these classes are teaching me. Now I have to do my best and leave it up to God to determine whether or not this is something that is in the plans for me. Whenever I get super overwhelmed and stressed about whether or not I am going to get into the program, my wife is good to remind me that we can only do our best and pray for God's help in whatever happens.
